Leveling up

JT has been doing karate for a while and it was time for him to test and level up! He was cool as a cucumber waiting his turn to demonstrate his proficiency of his kada. He has to wait to get his belt, but he has been working hard and Dada has learned to keep his distance, JT packs a punch!

Halloween

Happy Halloween from two of the Avengers! JT is Spider Man and Mr. C is Star Lord. They are geared up and ready to rock in order to save the Universe from evil.

Even Luna got into the spirit of Trick-or-Treating with her tutu! She got quite a few compliments on her outfit, too! She is just happy to be included in the adventures.

Apple picking and pumpkin riding

One of the hard things about living in SC is that there aren't many places to pick apples. Luckily, the boys know a few people who live in NC and want to go apple picking with them. So, off in the car they go with Mama, Dada and the dogs to pick some apples. The apples were crisp and delicious, and the view wasn't bad either. Then, JT decided to wrangle a big pumpkin and see if he could tame it for 8 seconds!

New School year

Summer always goes by too quickly and then school is back in session. After going back to school, the boys decided that they needed to add in some more sports, and that Mama and Dada had to drive them more places! JT started karate and Mr. C played soccer. He scored 1 goal and made a few saves to keep the other team from scoring.
While JT isn't happy about getting older, Mr. C is looking forward to seeing old friends, making new friends and being his mischievous self.

Taughannock

On their trip up north for a visit, the boys got another waterfall hike in at Taughannock Falls. Now that they are older and stronger, it is a little easier for them to go end to end, and play in the water along the way!

Last day of School

The school year has concluded and Mr. C will be going to 1st grade and JT will be going to 2nd grade, what will they do over the summer?!

Ropes Course and Waterfalls

It is time for another adventure. So, why not go to an adventure park? The boys grabbed all their gear, and the dogs, and their parents and went to NC for an adventure weekend. It started with a ropes course where JT climbed three separate courses and was 30 feet off the ground! He did great and was putting his inner monkey to good use. His poor Dada was trying to keep up!

The next day was another trip to the waterfalls! Poor Mr. C wasn't feeling well, so he had to stay behind, but JT got to go behind a waterfall! Dada even had to put his sports medicine skills to use taking care of another hiker who injured his ankle on the trail.

Luckily, the next day Mr. C was back to form and was able to join his brother for some playground fun.

Rocks and a new pup

The boys love rocks. And, climbing. And, playing. And, huskies. They love huskies SO much that they got a new husky puppy to keep Neha company. She is also the runt, a white, petite thing who likes to prance and play. To get her in training, the boys took her for a walk in the woods and into the rocks!

When it started to rain, they all cuddled together to stay dry! Welcome to the family, Luna!

Bridal Falls

Mr. C and JT had a boys' weekend with Dada and Duse, who took them on a hike to a waterfall. It was a beautiful day to go for a hike with the sun shining and a comfortable temperature. Once at the waterfall, the boys got to do some scrambling on some rocks. Be careful, though, the rocks are slippery and JT, Mr. C and Dada all got wet! Luckily, the water was not as cold as would seem in February, so it was nothing that a little hot chocolate couldn't fix. Although, walking back to the car with wet shoes and socks is not much fun!

Charleston Trip

During Christmas the boys went on a trip to Charleston, which they love. It was colder so they could not go to the beach or go into the water, but they did enjoy walking around the city, climbing a playground and going on a horse drawn carriage tour. Even Lovie got to hitch a ride in Dada's pack to have some fun.

Rocks and Gullies

It took a while, but Dada found a forest not far from the house that we can hike in. To make it even better, they have plenty of rocks to climb! The boys went for an hour and had a great time rock scrambling, climbing and jumping.

There is also a sandy trail near the development by the house that Neha can go for a walk in. What makes this walking area so much fun is the fact that water runoff has created little gully's in the sand. This makes it a lot of fun to run, jump and climb in. Mr. C was working on his Superman skills when he jumped over the gully in a single bound!!

North Carolina Visit

Now that Gammy and Duce live close, the boys can see them more often and like to go visit. They started the weekend by snuggling up with Gammy and reading books and finished the weekend by going for a walk in the woods.

The upside for living in the South is that the weather is warmer in the Winter and the boys can take advantage of walking and hiking. While everyone misses the snow (and Dada misses skiing), it is nice to wear fewer layers and have the sun beating down on you in January.

 

JT's building projects

JT continues to enjoy construction and building things. He is constantly building with his magna tiles and other implements. He has a great love for putting things together...and taking them apart.

His latest interest is housing and fort construction. He has combined his building toys from Aunt Katie and Uncle Greg with his magna tiles to create a house surrounded by a fort. This particular project featured several rooms with a high protective wall to keep out any and all intruders who may try to invade.
